A 42-year-old Modesto man who was wanted on charges of felony vandalism and possession of a controlled substance was picked off the streets of south Modesto Thursday afternoon.

Ceres Police Officer Juan Ramos was patrolling the area of Pecos Avenue and Seventh Street at 4:38 p.m. when he stopped pedestrian Jose Magallon. A records check revealed Magallon had the two felony warrants and arrested him, immediately booking him into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
