A 32-year-old Ceres man was arrested Friday evening after he allegedly drove while intoxicated into the back of a Honda Accord. The crash occurred in the 1600 block of Joseph Lane at approximately 9:12 p.m.

Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Greg Yotsuya said police found that Zakary Rayford, 32, of Ceres, drove his silver Chevrolet Equinox into the back of the Honda and that he appeared to be drunk. Officer Kevin Sakasegawa gave Rayford a series of field sobriety tests which confirmed his observation. Rayford’s blood alcohol was found to be over twice the legal limit.

Rayford was arrested for DUI but because he had to be medically cleared first, he was cited and released to a local hospital.
