A 23-year-old Modesto man with a suspended drivers’ license was arrested late Saturday evening after he led Ceres Police on a high-speed chase after they tried to pull him over for driving recklessly and fast.

Officer Charles “Chuck” Lord-Huff was patrolling the area of Service and Blaker roads at 11:37 p.m. when he spotted Dale Adair, 23, of Modesto, speeding in a silver-colored Mercedes E-320 while violating several other vehicle code violations. Officer Lord-Huff attempted to get Adair to pull over but he accelerated and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued south of Ceres until Modesto Police Department’s air unit arrived overhead to assist. The fixed-wing aircraft crew tracked the vehicle to allow officers to back off from an active pursuit. Adair eventually returned to the area where police conducted a high-risk traffic stop on Hatch Road near Carpenter Road. Adair was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for evading police and driving on a suspended license.
