Report of donut-spinning leads to DUI arrest
Ceres Cop Car

Reports of a vehicle spinning donuts and reckless driving in the intersection of Blaker and Kinser roads ended with an arrest for drunken driving.

The 9-1-1 calls came in at 9:11 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24. Ceres patrolman George Woodward was given the license number of the 2013 black Dodge Charger and found the vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1600 block of Kinser Road. Woodward identified Jose Villa-Ramos, 46, of Ceres, as the driver. Officers entered the home to speak to the driver but saw that he escaped through a bedroom window and fled the scene. Other officers responded to the area and located Villa-Ramos nearby. Officer Woodward determined he was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was taken into custody. At the time of his arrest, Jose's blood alcohol level was .13 percent.

Jose was transported to jail and booked on charges of driving under the influence and DUI with a BAC of .08 percent or higher.
