Two self-professed members of the Surreno gang were arrested May 13 after they allegedly robbed a man with Norteno gang ties in the 1700 block of Walnut Avenue.

The 19-year-old victim called police at 11:18 p.m. to report that two men were at the door and saying someone was going to shoot him. Officer Jesse Gutierrez arrived first and saw the suspects' vehicle, a 1996 Honda Accord, speeding away. Gutierrez initiated a pursuit and stopped the suspects on Hackett Road, taking them out of the car at gunpoint in a high-risk traffic stop.

Arrested on charges of robbery and conspiracy were Baltazar Valdovinos, 25, of Modesto, and Christian Vallejo, 25, of Modesto. Police found the victim's LG smart phone, black sweat shirt and bicycle.
