Two persons were arrested after a Ceres Police sergeant watched them engage in an illegal drug transaction on Thursday afternoon in the 3000 block of Ninth Street.

Sgt. Joe Wren was at the residence at 2:13 p.m. after someone tipped off police about the home being the possible location of an illegal marijuana cultivation. Wren saw a hand-to-hand drug transaction involving prescription hydrocodone.

The alleged seller was identified as Myda Guerrero, 28, of Ceres. She was arrested and booked for selling a controlled substance. Luis Fernandez, 27, of Ceres, was arrested and charged with possession of an illegal substance.
