Stockton teens arrested in Rite Aid burglary

Two Stockton teenagers were apprehended by Ceres Police for allegedly burglarizing the Rite Aid store at 1830 Mitchell Road early Saturday.

The arrests came after Officer Kevin Roseen was on patrol at 2:24 a.m. and saw someone dressed in all black clothing leaving the store through a broken window. The person ran to a black colored Hyundai Tucson waiting in the parking lot on the west side of the building.

When Officer Roseen attempted to stop the car, the driver fled and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit ended in the 3200 block of Barry Court with the driver running away while the passenger remained seated and was arrested. The driver was later arrested.

Police learned that the store was burglarized of cigars, alcohol, dash cameras and Bluetooth speakers valued at over $1,000.

The car they were riding in was also stolen.

The two 17-year-old teenagers were booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall. The driver was charged with felony evading of police, resisting arrest, burglary, vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle theft and vandalism. The passenger was charged with vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary and vandalism.
