Stolen tools recovered, three arrested

Three Ceres men were arrested by the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department on Monday, Oct. 3 regarding a theft of tools in rural Ceres.

At 6:49 a.m. deputies were dispatched to an orchard east of the 2800 block of Turner Road regarding the theft of property. A business owner working in the orchard had approximately $8,000 worth of tools stolen sometime in the evening. The victim was able to trace some of the stolen tools to a residence in the 2800 block of Turner Road. Deputies learned that men living in the 2800 block of Thomas Avenue in Ceres were also involved.

With the assistance of county Probation officers, deputies searched the Thomas Avenue house and located more of the stolen property as well as marijuana.

The victim was able get most of his stolen property returned at the conclusion of the investigation. Deputies arrested Donnie Lee Lines, 30, for grand theft, receiving stolen property and violating probation.

Michael Anthony Chadwick, 20, of Ceres, was arrested for receiving stolen property.

A third suspect, 30-year-old Patrick Shannon Overcash was arrested for receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana for sale and violation of probation.
