A stolen U-Haul box truck was recovered and its driver arrested for auto theft during a Tuesday, Dec. 26 traffic stop.

At 1:50 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Tyler Wilson spotted the truck in the area of Hatch and Herndon roads. The driver, Ryan Bertsch, 36, of Turlock, was taken out of the vehicle at gunpoint in the parking lot of 7-Eleven at 1305 Herndon Road. 

He was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and auto theft and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
