Jorge Valencia, 18, of Modesto, was arrested and booked for possession of a controlled substance during a Saturday evening stop on a car that ran a stop sign.

At 8:57 p.m. Officer Matt Berlier was in the area of Hollister and Central when he saw the car run a stop sign and pulled over Valencia. He announced that he had marijuana in the car and opened the center console. Officer Berlier saw the marijuana and a plastic baggie with a white substance and had both occupants out of the vehicle during a search.

Berlier completed a pat-down search of Valencia and went back to the car. He found that the baggie with white powder was missing and found it in the pants pocket of passenger, Danny Chandler.
