The surest way to get pulled over by an officer is to speed in front of him. That’s what Steven Rodriguez, 46, of Hickman, did on Monday evening. Speeding wasn’t the only violation for the rider of a Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was deemed intoxicated enough to go to jail.

At 10:39 p.m., Officer Nicholas Welsh stopped Rodriguez at Hatch Road and Wallin Way for speeding. When it appeared that he was drunk, the officer conducted a DUI investigation and made the arrest. Rodriguez submitted to a breath test which showed he had three times the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
