Stopped for driving with headlights off, Stockton driver arrested on warrants

A 43-year-old Stockton man was arrested for warrants after he was stopped on Tuesday night, July 7 for driving in the dark without headlights on.

At 10:24 p.m., Officer Eric Souza saw a 2004 red Chevy Tahoe traveling slowly eastbound on Evans Road near Herndon Road with its headlights off. He conducted a traffic stop and learned that driver Alvaro Mendoza was wanted for a felony arrest issued by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department and a misdemeanor warrant out of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

Mendoza was placed under arrest for the warrants.
