The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Ceres resident Gonzalo Chavez Jimenez who is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon.
Police said that the 17-year-old boy and Jimenez were in a verbal argument before the stabbing in the 1900 block of Darrah Street. The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the boy and then fled the area. Police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:30 p.m. Officers treated the victim until paramedics arrived and took him to a local hospital for treatment of an injury that is considered non-life threatening.
