The 33-year-old boyfriend of a Blaker Kinser Junior High School teacher was arrested on campus after he allegedly struck her while driving her to work Wednesday morning.

Arrested and charged with inflicting corporal injury to a spouse was Michael Halsor, 33, of Modesto.

Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Greg Yotsuya said the two had a dispute during the drive. He allegedly struck her and once they arrived at the school the female CUSD employee locked herself in a classroom while Halsor began banging on the door.

“This initiated a rather large response by us,” said Sgt. Yotsuya. “We got the call as an irate male banging on a classroom door trying to gain entry.”

When officers arrived, Halsor was in the school office after school administrators talked him into calming down.

He was arrested and booked without incident.

The school sent out a notification to parents that read: “Hello Parents – This morning there was police activity on Blaker’s campus. At no time were students in danger and all students and staff are safe.”
