Jonathan Wayne Woodral, 39, of Ceres, was arrested early Saturday for allegedly stealing mail from patrons' boxes in the 2800 block of Robmar Court.

Sgt. Derek Perry was on patrol at 1 a.m. when he saw Woodral riding his bike south on Barry Court. As the car passed by, Woodral threw pieces of mail on the ground. Sgt. Perry was suspicious and stopped Woodral.

Six pieces of mail not addressed to him were dropped. Woodral admitted stealing the mail in an attempt to get checks or credit cards.

The mail was not opened and was returned.
