Police arrested a third man in connection with the Sept. 11 shooting of two victims on Hackett Road.

The shooting - witnessed by an officer - took place at approximately 9 p.m. in the Hackett Road and Central Avenue area. The two males who were shot are recovering from wounds. Right after the shooting police had chased the suspects' car and arrested and charged Estevan Lomeli, 29, and Alejandro Gomez, 20, both of Ceres, with attempted murder. A third suspect was at large until his arrest yesterday morning.

Police received a tip that Esteban Godoy, 33, of Ceres, was in the 1900 block of Darrah Street. Police activated the SWAT team and surrounded a residence at midnight to arrest Godoy, who was considered armed and dangerous. Surrounding apartments were evacuated.

Approximately three hours later Godoy surrendered. He was charged with attempted murder, shooting at a building, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Sgt. Jose Berber said the shooting is believed to be gang related.
