A fight at the Blue Horse Lounge ended with the arrest of three persons early Sunday morning.

Officer Jon Vera was flagged down by security personnel at 12:54 a.m. outside the Service Road bar for a fight that spilled outside into the parking lot. According to Ceres Police Lt. Brent Smith, a large crowd had formed to watch.

The incident started when Angelisa Cortez, 18, of Turlock, allegedly used a fake ID to gain access to the 21-and-older-only establishment. She then allegedly got into a fight with Cassandra Morales, 25, of Modesto. Both women were removed but since they were parked next to each other, said Lt. Smith, the fight continued until a male entered the fray. By the time officers arrived the fight was in progress.

Cortez and Morales were arrested on charges of fighting in public, which is a misdemeanor.

Also arrested was Victor Garcia, 21, for a parole hold and causing a disturbance.

In an unrelated alcohol-involved incident, an allegedly intoxicated San Jose driver escaped serious injury Sunday when he plowed his passenger car into the back of a tractor-trailer rig while on Whitmore Avenue.

The crash occurred at 1:27 a.m. when Fernando Maldonado, 23, was driving a 1991 Honda Accord on eastbound on Whitmore Avenue. He was approaching Nickerson Drive when he rear-ended the trailer, causing significant damage to his car.

Maldonado was subjected to a field sobriety test where he registered a blood alcohol content of 0.25, three times the legal limit. He was cited and released before an ambulance took him to a local hospital with lacerations and a complaint of pain.
