Tire spinning teen loses license
Ceres Cop Car

A Ceres teenager was arrested and faces the loss of his license after he burned rubber in front of an officer Friday evening.

Michael Cook, 18, of Ceres, was stopped for a red light at 8:57 p.m. at Hatch and Herndon roads with Officer Keith Kitcher sitting right him in a black and white patrol car. When the light turned green, Cook allegedly burned rubber as he floored the accelerator. Kitcher immediately pulled Coo over. According to Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry, Cook expressed no remorse and thought what he did was okay. Kitcher then arrested Cook for reckless driving.

In addition, Ceres Police contacted the state Department of Motor Vehicles to have Cook's license re-evaluated for possible revocation.
