Transient charged with damaging pickup with a kick
Mario Vega arrest
Mario Vega was arrested for vandalizing a pickup with a kick to the door.

A 52-year-old homeless man was arrested Friday for kicking a Home Depot customer’s Toyota Tundra and causing more than $400 in damage to the vehicle.

Officer Gloria Blakeslee was dispatched to the store parking lot in the 1400 block of Hatch Road where the owners were sitting when Mario Vega, 52, walked into the parking lot yelling at passing vehicles and people in the parking lot. Vega allegedly walked past the Tundra and kicked the passenger door.

Before the police arrived, Vega fled south across Hatch Road towards a shopping center. Using a description of Vega, Officer Blakeslee found him near the T-Shirt Outlet in the 1500 block of Hatch Road. He was positively identified as the vandal and booked into jail at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
