Becoming familiar with at-large persons wanted to stand trial for crimes is part of the job of a police officer. That keenness is what led Ceres Police Officer Juan Ramos on Monday to pick up a man wanted for a prior assault allegation.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., Officer Ramos was patrolling the area of Crows Landing and Hackett roads in west Ceres when he observed George Ceja, 35, of Turlock driving a Ford Fusion. The officer was familiar with Ceja and his warrant and conducted a vehicle stop. Ceja was arrested for the warrant and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
