Two arrested in drive-by shooting of two

Two men have been arrested and a third man is sought in connection with Thursday's gang-related drive-by shooting of two men.

The shooting took place at approximately 9 p.m. in the Hackett Road and Central Avenue area. The two males who were shot suffered from what has been called non-life-threatening wounds and were transported to the hospital.

The shooting was witnessed by an officer who was patrolling the area. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle and after a short pursuit the driver pulled over. Arrested and charged with attempted murder were Estevan Lomeli, 29, and Alejandro Gomez, 20, both of Ceres. The identity of a third suspect being sought has not been released by police.

Sgt. Jose Berber said the shooting is believed to be gang related.
