Two arrested on mail theft charges
Ceres Cop Car

A man and woman were jailed Friday evening after it was reported they stole mail from a residential mail box in the area of Blaker and Kinser roads.

At 7:48 p.m. Officer Eric Gallegos was provided with the descriptions of the suspects and found Annalisa Hernandez, 34, of Modesto, in front of 1337 Kinser Road. Gallegos found several pieces of mail that did not belong to her but she suggested that the mail was placed in her purse by an unknown man she had just met. She was arrested and a search turned up crystal methamphetamine and a meth smoking pipe in her bra. Hernandez admitted to being an active user of methamphetamine.

Officer Pat Dayton located the male suspect, Andre Constancio, 29, of Ceres, near Vickinell and Fannell. During questioning Constancio said a mailbox in front of 1473 Kinser Road was open and that he grabbed mail and placed it in Hernandez's purse.

Both were arrested for conspiracy and mail theft. Hernandez was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and receiving stolen property.
