Two booked for possessing stolen car

Arrests were made Saturday evening on two persons who were seen in a stolen vehicle at the Dollar General store at 2500 block of Whitmore Avenue.

A report of the stolen car being in the parking lot was made at 7:38 p.m. Officer Vince Hooper located the car at Roeding and Ninth streets but the suspects were gone. Ceres police volunteer Dave McCann secured photos of two suspects on the store's surveillance camera and passed them along to patrol officers who found them in the area and arrested them.

Angelica McBride, 38, a transient, was booked for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, violating probation and for a warrant. Francisco Vizcaino, 26, of Ceres, was booked for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and for violating probation.

The vehicle was returned to its owner.
