A traffic stop made early Wednesday morning, March 8 resulted in two persons being booked on theft charges.

Officer Matt Berlier was on patrol at 3:13 a.m. when he made a stop on a Nissan Altima in the 1300 block of Rockefeller Drive. When he ran the vehicle ID number through Dispatch, he learned the car had been reported stolen on Feb. 11 from a residence in the 1300 block of Tomba Drive.

He detained driver, Jenny Ritter, 33, of Modesto, and passenger Margarito Rojo, 34, of Modesto. Ritter was booked into the Public Safety Center for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and an unrelated misdemeanor warrant issued by the Ceres Police Department.

Rojo was booked for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools.
