Two Ceres men arrested on drug charges

Two Ceres men were arrested on drug charges Wednesday evening, Jan. 11 after police checked out reports of a man wearing black clothing, a black beanie cap and carrying a sword or crowbar.

Police were dispatched to the area of Sixth and Mary streets at 10:02 p.m. and officers found Nicholas Laffoon, 26, and Danny Devoe, 23, both of Ceres, standing behind the Bank of the West. Devoe, who was on probation and searchable, was found with two hypodermic syringes in his back pack, a knife in a sheath in waistband and a meth pipe and a small amount of heroin in his pants pocket. He was arrested and booked for possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation.

Laffoon was found to be in possession of Vicodin pills. He was booked for being in possession of narcotics without a prescription.
