A 33-year-old Vallejo man was arrested by Ceres Police detectives in Watsonville after allegedly continually harassing his estranged wife now residing in Ceres.

Detective Matthew Berlier was briefed on June 16 by a patrol sergeant about the actions of Miguel Villapando. Berlier conducted an investigation by reviewing previous reports made by the estranged wife and was able to build a case of stalking against Villapando. It also discovered that Villapando had absconded from parole and had an active parole violation warrant.

On Tuesday, June 23 at 3:30 p.m., Ceres detectives learned that Villapando was traveling to Watsonville so they traveled there to search for him. They located his car parked along a Manresa State Beach access where they set up surveillance. A short time later Villapando got into his vehicle and detectives followed until he stopped on Harking Slough Road near Green Valley Road where he was arrested.

Villapando faces charges of making criminal threats, stalking, violation of a domestic violence restraining order and parole violations.
