Vehicle stop on Collins Road ends in drug arrest
Ceres Cop Car

A Friday afternoon traffic stop in the 3900 block of Collins Road ended with the driver being arrested for drug possession.

At 3:27 p.m. Officer Justin Canatsy made a stop on a car driven by Travis Lee McCullough, 40, of Ceres, who was on probation. A search turned up methamphetamine and ammunition. At that point McCullough was arrested and placed in the back of the patrol car where he started banging his head on the cage. He sustained a cut on his head requiring treatment.

"He didn't want to go to jail," said Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry.

McCullough was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, parole violation, and being an ex-felon in possession of ammunition.
