Police arrested a man who was spotted beneath a 1960 blue Ford Falcon parked in the driveway in the 3000 block of Cedar Springs Court on Thursday morning.

Witnesses called police at 8:10 a.m. after believing that Johnny Buantello, 48, of Modesto, who rode up on a bicycle and hopped off, was attempting to steal the classic car. Police found Buantello, who volunteered info that he had had several outstanding warrants. He said he was under the car to see if it had front suspension.

Police inspected the car, which had no visible signs of damage. Buantello was arrested for vehicle tampering, violation of probation and for outstanding warrants.
