A Southern California man who absconded from parole officials was located and arrested in Ceres on Thursday evening, Nov. 8.

At 11:30 p.m. Ceres Police Officer Eric Souza recognized Gambino Sanchez, 51, of Corona as he pushed a bicycle near Hatch and Herndon roads. Souza recognized Sanchez from a wanted bulletin Ceres Police Department had received from the California Department of Correction and Rehabilitation.  The bulletin advised that Sanchez was possibly in Ceres.

Initially Sanchez gave the officer a false name. He was later positively identified as Sanchez and arrested.
