A 38-year-old Modesto woman was arrested by Ceres Police after she allegedly stole a pickup owned by the Turlock Irrigation District.
Ceres Police Officer Charles Lord-Huff was patrolling the area of Morgan Road near Seventh Street at 2:17 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6 when he was flagged down by several TID employees of regarding a vehicle theft of a company pickup. The vehicle was located with TID employees observing a woman running from it. Officer Lord-Huff located suspect Jamie Ruiz, 38, of Modesto in the 1100 block of S. Ninth Street. She immediately began running when she spotted the officer.
Ruiz was apprehended and at the conclusion of the investigation was arrested for auto theft and possession of a controlled substance. She was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
