A 24-year-old Modesto woman faces charges of grand theft auto, possession of a stolen vehicle and probation violations after she was stopped in a stolen car in Ceres on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
At 11:53 p.m., Officer Eric Gallegos spotted a white Chevy Tahoe that matched the description of a vehicle stolen earlier in that evening. Officer Gallegos confirmed the license plate matched the stolen vehicle and stopped the driver as it turned onto Fowler Road from Mitchell Road.
Officer Gallegos ordered driver Shyanne Applegate, 24, of Modesto, out of the vehicle and she complied. Applegate was arrested and charged.
