Woman jailed after giving police a fake name
Ceres Cop Car

A Saturday evening traffic stop got interesting when the female driver gave officers a fake name, probably because of warrants and the drugs found in her vehicle.

At 10 p.m. a Ceres patrol officer pulled over Whitney Steeves, 29, of Tracy, as she drove a beige GMC Yukon in the 1900 block of Darrah Street. When the officer ran the name through DMV records and learned the name was a fake, he searched the Yukon and found her actual ID in a wallet inside the car. Steeves had two outstanding warrants and she was driving on a suspended license. Police found a small amount of heroin in her wallet.

Steeves was booked at the County Jail for giving false information to a police officer, driving on a suspended license, possession of narcotics and for the warrants.
