A Ceres woman was arrested Thursday morning after fleeing officers trying to apprehend her for breaking windows of a home in the 2800 block of Charlotte Avenue.
Police were told the suspect was wearing a Superman shirt as she was breaking windows of a home at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Ceres Police Sgt. Trenton Johnson spotted Monica Ferreiro-Bocage, 27, of Ceres, in the front yard and she took off running south to Whitmore Avenue. Officer Matt Berlier located her in the front yard of a residence in the 2800 block of Whitmore Avenue and saw she was trying to hide behind some objects. When he got out of his patrol car and started walking towards her Ferreiro-Bocage tried running away again but she was quickly apprehended by both.
The Charlotte Avenue homeowner said Monica was his daughter and that she had been on a three-day methamphetamine binge when she started breaking the windows out of his house. She was booked for vandalism and resisting or obstructing a police officer.
