The Ceres City Council is now accepting applications from residents to serve on its newly formed Veterans and Active Military Banner Program Advisory Committee.

The committee will help establish a Banner Program in Ceres to honor the brave men and women of Ceres currently serving in or retired from the U.S. Armed Forces.

Applications will be accepted until Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 5 p.m.  Please submit your completed application to the City Clerk at cityclerk@ci.ceres.ca.us.

Mayor Javier Lopez prompted the formation of the committee out of his desire to see banners hung from poles along Hatch Road between Herndon Road and Richland Avenue to highlight service personnel from Ceres. A similar program can be seen along Countryside Drive in Turlock.
