Assemblyman Alanis announces committee appointments

State Assemblyman Juan Alanis, R-Modesto

Assemblyman Juan Alanis announced that Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas has appointed him to the following committees for the 2026 legislative year:

• Public Safety, as vice chairman;

• Labor & Employment as vice chairman;

• Agriculture;

• Business & Professions;

• Natural Resources;

• Water, Parks, & Wildlife;

• Public Employment & Retirement.

“I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues on these key committees to tackle issues that matter most to Californians,” said Alanis. “I want to thank Speaker Rivas for these appointments which will allow me to address the affordability crisis, public safety, gaps in the workforce, and protecting our water and agricultural resources all priorities that are crucial to the constituents I represent.”

Alanis represents the 22nd Assembly District, which includes Ceres, Keyes, Modesto, Turlock, Empire, Denair, Patterson, Gustine, Newman, Hilmar, Ballico, Snelling, Grayson, Crows Landing, Diablo Grande and Stevinson.
