Ceres Chamber banquet set for Friday, Jan. 29

Today is the deadline to submit nominations for awards to be given out during the 47th Annual Community Service Awards & Installation Dinner. The event is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29 at the Ceres Community Center, 2701 Fourth Street, Ceres.

Nominations are open until midnight, Jan. 6. Persons may drop by the Chamber office at 2938-A Fourth Street to complete a nomination paper of submit a nomination on line at cereschamber.com.

Awards to be given out that evening are:

• Distinguished Service Award;

• Citizen of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award;

• Young Citizen of the Year Award;

• Volunteer of the Year Award;

• Business of the Year Award;

• Downtown Business of the Year;

• Legacy Award.

Since 1968, the Ceres Chamber of Commerce has recognized outstanding members of our community who have made extraordinary contributions in community service.

Last year's recipients were: Rocky Fisher as "Citizen of the Year"; Troy Slaybaugh for the Distinguished Service Award; Jim and Colleen Bergamashi as "Volunteers of the Year"; Richland Ace Hardware the "Business of the Year"; Aiden Moore for the "Young Citizen of the Year"; Ceres Drug Store as "Downtown Business of the Year"; and Bronco Winery for the "2014 Legacy Award."
