Candidate webinar set for June 27

County Clerk-Recorder & Registrar of Voters Donna Linder has scheduled a Virtual Candidate Workshop in preparation for the Nov. 3 General Election.

The Candidate Workshop is set for 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27 via a Skype meeting. Prospective candidates for public office should participate to understand about the candidate guide, filing deadlines and documents related to filing for candidacy.  To confirm attendance, contact Candidate Services at 525-5237.  

Ceres voters will be electing a mayor and councilmembers for District 3 and 4 now occupied by Bret Durossette and Mike Kline, respectively. The office of city treasurer will also be voted upon.

Two seats will be open on the rural Ceres Fire Protection District which neighbors the city limit boundaries.

Voters in Hughson will be electing a mayor and two council members. They will also decide on two trustee seats for the Hughson Unified School District – Trustee Area 1 and 3.

Keyes Union School District voters in Trustee Area 1 and 4 will also be electing representatives.

The Keyes Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) will have three seats on open.

The South Modesto MAC has two seats open.

Three seats are open on the Riverdale Park Community Services District board and two seats on the rural Monterey Park Tract board.

Also up for grabs are three four-year terms and one two-year seat on the Westport Fire Protection District Board.

Nomination period begins on Monday, July 13 and closes on Friday, Aug. 7.
