Just in time for Christmas, the Ceres Lions Club brought smiles and much-needed support to local senior citizens by gifting 21 grocery gift cards to local senior citizens.
The 21 seniors received a $100 gift card to Grocery Outlet, helping ease the cost of groceries during the holiday season. Recipients expressed heartfelt appreciation for the generous donation. In gratitude, the recipients signed a thank-you poster for the club, sharing kind words and warm holiday wishes.
The Ceres Lions Club has been giving back to seniors during the Christmas holiday season for approximately 20 years now. Lions Club member Richard McKay coordinated with the Recreation Coordinator Crystel Aguilar to gift the cards this year to Ceres Silver Harvest program participants at the Ceres Community Center. Silver Harvest is dedicated to improving food security for community members ages 60 and above.
