Ceres man killed in rural crash near I-5
Crash

A 59-year-old Ceres man was killed on a rural road in a three-vehicle crash in western Stanislaus County between Hills Ferry and I-5  Friday morning.

The California Highway Patrol reported receiving a call about the crash at 5:58 a.m. The victim was identified as Phillip Feebeck.

Feebeck had apparently crashed his 2017 Chevy pickup into a Kubota farm tractor pulling a farm implement as it was traveling southbound on Eastin Road, just south of Shiells Road, at a slow speed. Luis Araiza Garcia, 20, of Gustine, was driving the tractor when the Ceres driver rear-ended it. The Chevy then glanced off the implement and into the northbound lane where it was struck by a northbound 2018 Kenworth tractor-trailer rig driven by Armando Flores, 22, of Chowchilla. The front of Kenworth struck the left side of the victim’s pickup. Feebeck sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to have been a factor in this collision.
