County hires new librarian

After a nationwide recruitment, the Chief Executive Officer of Stanislaus County has announced the hiring of Diane McDonnell as the new County Librarian for Stanislaus County.

McDonnell is currently the Senior Community Library Manager in Contra Costa County.

McDonnell has 19 years of experience in the Library field. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Cultural Anthropology from Sacramento State University and a Master of Library and Information Science Degree from San Jose State University.

McDonnell has a background in community relations, staff training and library operations.

She takes over for Vanessa Czopek, a Ceres resident, who retired as County Librarian in April 2014 after more than 18 years of Stanislaus County service.

McDonnell will begin with Stanislaus County on June 9, 2014.
