Casey Giovannoni will become principal of Central Valley High School starting with the 2022-23 school year this July.

With Central Valley High School Principal Carol Lubinsky deciding to retire after 37 years in education, Casey Giovannoni has been tapped to take her place.

The Ceres School Board approved a two-year contract agreement with Giovannoni on Feb. 10.

“Carol’s success has been built on her relentless focus to always do what’s best for students and she will be deeply missed,” said Ceres Unified School District Supt. Denise Wickham.

Giovanni currently serves as principal of Cesar Chavez Junior High School and will begin his new job at CVHS in July. He’ll be paid an annual base salary of $153,395.

“He is eager to take over the largest site in the district,” said Wickham.

Replacing Giovannoni as principal of Cesar Chavez in July will be Rogelio Adame who began his teaching career in 2006. He was a math instructor at Cesar Chavez Junior High before filling the associate principal position at Central Valley High School.

Ceres Unified School District will pay Adame a base salary of $142,842.

“He is very excited to begin his journey as a principal,” commented Wickham.
