GoFundMe account set up for burial of Hughson man killed on Hwy. 99
Paul O'Hara
Hughson resident Paul O'Hara, seen here in 2014 with wife Erika Rocha, was killed Tuesday morning in a Highway 99 crash in Modesto. A GoFundMe account has been set up to pay for burial expenses.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help a grieving Hughson family bury a husband and father.

Paul O’Hara, 39, was killed in a Tuesday morning traffic crash on northbound Highway 99 north of the Pelandale Avenue exit.

His Facebook page noted that he worked for Leprino Foods in Tracy and studied at Stanislaus State.

The GoFundMe account, organized by Hillary Bergwerff on behalf of Erika Rocha, had collected $6,175 toward its $10,000 goal by 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The page may be found by searching for “Donations for the O’Hara Family” on the GoGundMe.com website or visiting https://www.gofundme.com/f/donations-for-the-ohara-family?qid=c73362ecf4a5080201a56747adb7087d.

O’Hara leaves behind wife Erika Rocha and two daughters, Ava and Lena.

O’Hara was riding a 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle, when the crash took place at approximately 6:50 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol’s preliminary investigation indicates that Emily Dias, 34, of Modesto, was driving her 2008 Scion hatchback in the fast lane just north of Pelandale Avenue when she collided with the victim’s motorcycle directly to the right. O’Hara flew off his motorcycle into the number 3 lane where he was fatally struck by a 2012 Freightliner driven by Sergio Zuniga, 65, of Merced.

It remained unclear if Dias or O’Hara was responsible for the crash.

Neither Dias nor Zuniga were injured.

The CHP originally reported O'Hara's age as 29 but it was later corrected.
