As a Ceres family grieves the unimaginable tragedy with the death of their son allegedly murdered by another son, the community is rallying to help with funeral expenses.
Cindy Gabriela Rubio of Ceres organized the effort to raised $50,000 on GoFundMe.
Isaac Urias, 25, of Ceres died in a stabbing in Turlock on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 13. Police have arrested his younger brother, Marcos Urias, 20, of Ceres, on murder charges. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of murder.
The two had been arguing in the 800 block of W. Hawkeye Avenue when an altercation between the two escalated. Isaac had been stabbed at least once and died on scene despite immediate lifesaving efforts by police and firefighters.
Part of the GoFundMe reads, “In the wake of this heartbreaking tragedy, the outpouring of love, prayers, thoughts, and support from friends and family has been beyond words. Tino and Miki are deeply comforted by the beautiful community surrounding them, and they are eternally grateful for each and every one of you. Many of you have asked how you can help, and with profound humility, we are asking for your support — donations to help with any necessary costs during this difficult time. Your generosity means more than we can express.”
