Eight individuals were elected incoming 2018 officers of the Ceres Post of the American Legion.

The officials are Commander Shawna Moore, Adjutant/Finance Officer Steve Whitney, Judge Advocate Lew Sims Jr., chaplain Jeffery Dean, Committee members Walt Butler, and Cliff Meyer, 2nd Vice Commander/Sergeant-at-Arms Pete Samaniego, and 3rd Vice Commander Steve Scott.

The Ceres Post of the American Legion was established in 1934 and serves local veterans, their families, and the community. Membership is open to all honorably discharged (or active duty) service personnel who served anywhere in the world during a war-time era.

Commander Moore is the first-time-ever female commander for the Ceres post.
