Library offers lot in March

Visitors to the Ceres Library this month may enjoy a variety of free events, including crafts and activities, a book club program for adults, and a performance by Act!vated Story Theatre for children and their families.

Wiggle Worms will be offered on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. Wiggle Worms is a special Story Time program designed for babies, active toddlers, and adult caregivers, however all ages are welcome to attend. Wiggle Worms features stories, lap bounces, music, dancing, rhythm activities, finger plays and more.

The library will host a puzzle night series on Mondays from 5 to 7:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to test their skill levels with a variety of puzzles ranging in difficulty levels. The library will have puzzles suitable for preschool age children through challenging puzzles for adults.

Preschool Story Time will be held on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Story Times feature new and classic picture books, flannel board and puppet stories, finger plays, music and dancing, for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers, however all ages are welcome.

Wee Move and Play will take place on Wednesdays, March 7 and 21 at 11:30 a.m. This program features unstructured playtime for toddlers and preschoolers, during which they can enjoy movement and sensory play.

Children may take part in a dragon craft on Thursday, March 8 at 3:30 p.m. Participants will use paper to create fire-breathing dragons. The dragon craft is sponsored by the Friends of the Ceres Library.

A stuffed animal sleepover will take place on Monday, March 12. At 6:30 p.m. children may enjoy a special Mo Willems themed Story Time before leaving their stuffed animals for the night. Participants return to the library on March 13 after 12 p.m. to see what their stuffed animals did during night. Sign up by March 5 by calling 537-8938. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Ceres Library.

Children may make a craft in celebration of St. Patrick's Day on Thursday, March 1 at 3:30 p.m. Participants will make edible rainbows using donuts and sweet cereal "O's." This craft is sponsored by the Friends of the Ceres Library.

All ages can craft with pony beads on Thursday, March 22 at 3:30 p.m. Crafters can make necklaces, bracelets, and key rings. Children 5 and under are welcome to participate, but must have direct supervision from parents or adult guardians.

The Ceres Library Book Club will meet on Wednesday, March 28 at 11:30 a.m. Participants will discuss Lila by Marilynne Robinson.

Families may enjoy a free performance by Act!vated Story Theatre on Thursday, March 29 at 3:30 p.m. The Goza family will perform two multicultural folktales full of physical comedy, music, song, dance, American Sign Language, and audience participation.
