Library plans fun activities for September

The Ceres Library, 2250 Magnolia Street, will offer free crafts and activities for all ages this September, beginning with Wee Move and Play on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Wednesdays, Sept. 6 and 20 at 11:30 a.m. This program features unstructured playtime for toddlers and preschoolers, during which they can enjoy movement and sensory play.

Children and teens can craft with pony beads at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 Crafters will have the opportunity to make key chains, bracelets, or necklaces out of colorful beads. Children four and under are welcome to participate, however they must have direct parental supervision.

An owl craft for children will be offered at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 Children will craft owls using pinecones and feathers.

The library will host a special LEGO-themed craft at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21. Children and teens will learn how to make their own fidget spinners using LEGOs, while supplies last. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Ceres Library.

The Ceres Library Book Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27. This month, the book club will discuss The Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst. The Ceres Library has a limited number of copies available for checkout. Please visit the circulation desk to reserve a copy.

The library will host an all ages coloring and watercolor painting activity at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28. Participants may express their creativity by using the library's supply of coloring pages, markers, colored pencils, crayons and watercolor paints. This activity is sponsored by the Friends of the Ceres Library.
