Central Valley High School senior Max Ulmilla was recognized Friday as a “Rotary Student of the Month” with the help of school officials.
Max was chosen as a senior who has established himself as an accomplished student in Central Valley High School community.
Now in his third year of taking the Film and Television Production class, Ulmilla consistently uses his creativity and technical skills to support campus life. He volunteers his time to film and produce content for school clubs and the school’s social media platforms, promoting events, increasing student engagement and highlighting the positive experiences on campus.
In addition to his creative contributions, Ulmilla is deeply committed to service and leadership. He is an active member of NHS, CSF, AAPI, and has served as a school ambassador for the past two years. Max is also a passionate advocate for youth mental health. He volunteers at Cesar Chavez Junior High School to support students and help bring awareness to mental health needs.
Recently Max competed in the Lions Club Speech Contest with a focus on youth mental health, earning first place at the site level and second place at the club level. He also continues to seek out service opportunities and plans to volunteer at this year’s Rotary Crab Feed.
After graduating, Max aims to attend Modesto Junior College with hopes of transferring to a university, either in San Francisco or Sacramento. Besides filmmaking, his other interests include psychology, creative writing, directing and music, reflecting his curious and creative nature.
