Motorcyle rider dies from crash

A juvenile driver of a van is blamed for a deadly Monday evening crash that left one motorcycle rider dead and his family grieving.

The fatal collision took place at Hatch and Stonum roads at approximately 5:58 p.m.

The victim was identified as Alden North, 28, of Modesto.
Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jose Berber said the accident occurred when the driver of the van attempted to turn left onto eastbound Hatch Road and he cut in front of the westbound motorcycle and rider. Ceres Police officers were able to render aid until first responders from Ceres Fire Department showed up. The mortally injured North later died at a Modesto hospital.

The Courier was unable to obtain the name of the van driver.
