Saechao added as new CPD officer

Kao Saechao was sworn in as a police officer by Ceres Police Chief Brent Smith at his Academy graduation. His father, Ceres Police Sgt. Danny Vierra is pinning on his badge.

Kao Saechao, the adopted son of Ceres Police Sgt. Danny Vierra, has been sworn in as the latest sworn officer of the department.

Saechao was hired by Ceres Police Department in September as an Academy recruit with the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Academy. He graduated on Feb. 9, and was installed four days later as a full-time police officer.

Kao was born in Thailand and immigrated to the United States when he was one. He was adopted when he was eight and raised by the Vierras in Atwater.

Law enforcement runs in the Vierra family. Besides dad, brother Mike Vierra is a Ceres Police detective and brother is Matthew Vierra is an Atwater Police officer.
