School Board honors 37 retiring employees

Ceres Unified School District administrators and board trustees honored 37 retiring employees during Thursday's Zoom conference board meeting. Social distancing requirements have caused government bodies to meet this way since mid March.

Ceres Unified School District recognized 37 retiring employees via Zoom during last Thursday’s board meeting.

They were honored remotely due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

“This is not the way we envisioned wishing them well as they begin the next chapter, but our appreciation for their dedication and service to students is no less sincere,” CUSD stated on its Twitter page. “Thank you, and congratulations!”

Other district news: Central Valley High School’s and Ceres High’s virtual graduation ceremonies will be posted on YouTube on Thursday and Friday, respectively, at 7:30 p.m. 

Ceres Unified School District had to cancel traditional ceremonies for Central Valley, Ceres High, Argus/Endeavor and Whitmore Charter because of COVID-19 restrictions against large gatherings.

The Argus/Endeavor and Whitmore Charter virtual graduation videos were shared on social media on Tuesday and Monday.
